FAQs

ABC offers case carburizing, carbonitriding, and through hardening services using its SCADA-controlled Ipsen sealed quench furnace. These services are available for both in-house production components and external client components requiring controlled heat treatment in Bangalore.

Case carburizing diffuses carbon into the surface of low/medium carbon steel, creating a hard, wear-resistant case while retaining a tough core — ideal for components with rolling or sliding contact loads. Through hardening heats and quenches the entire cross-section, producing uniform hardness throughout — suited to components requiring consistent strength rather than localised surface hardness.

SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) control means the furnace temperature, atmosphere composition, soak time, and quench parameters are continuously monitored and automatically adjusted by a computer control system. This ensures tight process repeatability — critical for maintaining consistent case depth, hardness, and microstructure across every batch.

Yes. ABC's in-house metallurgical laboratory performs hardness testing (Rockwell HRC and Vickers HV), case depth measurement using micro-hardness traverses, and microstructure analysis via optical microscopy — enabling full quality verification of heat treated components without reliance on external testing.
